Meine Gastfamilie

Das ist ein Teil meiner Gastfamilie. Ich hab noch nicht von allen Fotos.

Irene überlebt und jetzt wieder Internet (Irene survived and now Internet again)

Hallo alle miteinander!
Ich bin endlich mal dazu gekommen selber auf meinem Blog zu posten:) Seit Samstagnachmittag bin ich jetzt bei meiner Gastfamilie zu Hause, in der Nähe von meiner Schule. Am Sonntag hatten wir dann Irene zu Besuch, was konkret heißt: mega Sturm, kein Internet und kein Fernsehen (funktioniert beides erst seit ein paar Stunden wieder). Gestern und heute hatten wir wieder superschönes Wetter und Julia ist auch bis Donnerstag hier, weil ihre Gastfamilie bei den US Open ist. Gestern haben wir uns Hebron angeguckt und uns mal mit Lacrosse versucht :). Heute waren wir zu dritt am Strand (Julia, meine Gastmutter und ich) weil meine beiden Gastbrüder nach Rhode Island gefahren sind, weil der Ältere der Beiden umzieht. So, das war's für's Erste.

(Hello everyone!
I'm finally able to post on the blog myself :). I've been at my host family's home near my school since saturday afternoon, and on sunday Irene paid us a visit. This means in detail: a heavy storm, no Internet and no TV (both have been working fine for a few hours now). Yesterday and today we have had great weather again, and Julia is here with til thursday because her host family is at the US Open. Yesterday we visited Hebron and tried Lacrosse :). Today we were in a threesome (Julia, my host mum and me) at the beach because my host brothers drove to Rhode Island because the older one had to move. So, enough for the moment.

Der letzte Abend der 4-tägigen Orientation in der Pomfret School (nähe Boston) am 20.08.2011 mit allen 146 ASSIST-Schülern aus 17 Ländern!
Jessi mitten drin in der ersten Reihe...das erinnert sicher den ein oder anderen an eine Musical-Aufführung der Holderbergschule ;-)
Ich hoffe, dass Jessi bald selbst die Führung in diesem Blog übernehmen kann und wieder auf Empfang ist.

It is now quite late at Pomfret School in Connecticut, and I am writing to inform you that all of our ASSIST scholars from Germany, including Jessica, have arrived safely at Logan Airport and are either here on campus or are en route by bus. They are very tired, but they are enthused and positive.

We will be up early tomorrow to begin our time together, and I am certain that Jessica will enjoy her time at Orientation. One reason to send this e-mail, in addition to reassuring you, is to try and limit the calls or e-mails that students send from Orientation. I will let the students know at breakfast tomorrow that you have heard from us so that they can concentrate on getting to know one another in our brief time together.

We are available here at Pomfret School throughout the day and anticipate that we will enjoying getting to know the 146 scholars from 17 countries who are members of the ASSIST Class of 2011/12   our 43rd ASSIST Class.
